My ‘Desi’ Platter

As for butter versus margarine, I trust cows more than chemists – Joan Dye Gussow

The thing better than talking about food is not just ‘eating’. It can be writing too.
Yes. Why Not?
Especially when one cannot think well, love well, sleep well if one has not dined well.

Though she has always been a person who takes immense joy in cooking, loves to know about food science, healthy eating, food customs, conventional ways of cooking & eating etc. etc.

However, nothing…nothing at all changed her for better as a person in terms of my cooking and eating practices than insight into Divine Book Qur’an. She strongly believes that one of the biggest traps of shytan is to make a person slave of its taste buds.

From colourful jellies to refined flour, from gol-gappas to gulab-Jamun, from innocent brown bread to faithful achaar…she has a pandora box of things about food to share with you all.
(Not just for the sake of writing but for a purpose.)

Hoping to inspire you and to change you for good…
Hoping to change the mindset from ‘Jab marna hi hai to sab khaa pi kar maro’ to ‘I will be answerable to Allaah for what I ate in dunya’…
Hoping to make you realise that food should be ‘soul food’ not just the ‘eye candy’…
Hoping to assist you to trust the ‘nature’ more than to trust ‘chemists & manufacturers’…
Hoping to feed the bodies and nourish the souls…

She invites you all over her ‘Desi Platter’.

Get ready to read lots of food for the soul.
