From ‘Silver in Glass’ on Earth to ‘Glass in Silver’ in Paradise: A Story of Faith

This is definitely among the things of which there is nothing like in this world.

Usually, people go window shopping to see all they would buy if they could. Others to wilfully remind themselves of the constant realisation of how broke they are (Strange! Isn’t it 🤷‍♀️?).

I go for this grazing for none of such reasons. For me, it is always indifferently and aimlessly. On one of such occasions, I clicked this pic. The picture of whiteness of silver in the transparency of glass.

I knew If I wanted, I could buy them. But, for what? Neither I needed them nor I felt comfortable to amass such fancy items in my home. ‘No denial’, they looked exquisitely alluring. I could not stop myself from capturing them in my lens. However, that’s not the only reason I clicked the photo.

Actually, I was studying chapter ‘al-Insaan’ from al-Qur’an those days. And, as I saw those fragile vessels of silver and drinking cup, it at once reminded me of a verse from the same chapter.

قَوَارِيرَا۟ • قَوَارِيرَاْ مِن فِضَّةٍ۬
((Qawarir) Crystal-clear, made of silver.)

However, my amusement turned into bemusement the very next moment 😥.

‘Whiteness of Silver in the Transparency of Glass!’
“Hey! But I read, ‘this is among the things of Jannah (paradise) which there is nothing like in this world’.”
“But I can see it right now. Right in front of me’

Right in front of my eyes were the vessels with the whiteness of silver in the transparency of glass. The verse from al-Qur’an was making echoes within me. I had read that it was something Allaah Subhanahu Ta’aala Would make possible only in Jannah and would grant this blessing of ‘Qawarir’ for its dwellers; nothing like that in this world.

I was so confused that I didn’t talk about it to anybody. I kept my confusion and the photo to myself; caged in my mind and captive in my gallery.

I don’t have the count now how many times I have recited that verse after that incident. And, the photo came in flashback every time.

SubhanAllaah ❤️!
How Merciful is my Lord.
He removed my confusion out of nowhere a few days back. And, I am wondering how silly I was.

The vessels I saw with the whiteness of silver in the transparency of glass that day were all made up of glass. It is not a big deal to give glass the tinge of silver, gold, or any other metal for that matter. This is often accomplished by adding some powdered oxide, sulfide, or another compound of that metal to the glass while it is molten.

Simple! Add some silver to the glass and it becomes what appears ‘silver-like’.
However, you can’t make silver appear transparent like glass, no matter how fine you make it. And, the catch is here.

It is quite possible on the earth to have something of glass that looks like silver. But the ‘silver that is transparent like glass’ is something beyond this world. This is definitely among the things of which there is nothing like in this world.

SubhanAllaah ❤️!
How true are the words of my Lord.

And, Wallaah ❤️! It flashed like the flash of the silver tinge in those vessels, out of nowhere when the other day I was reading a post by Shykh Yasir Qadhi regarding how a few of us feel awkward mentioning the descriptions of Jannah in the Qur’an (Read the post here.). It reminded me of my own strange reason for embarrassment. However, Allaah Subhanahu Ta’aala has taken the responsibility of guarding the honor of this ultimate truth on Himself. And, He never leaves those who firmly believe in Him and His words to wander in confusion. He guided me too.

SubhanAllaah ❤️!
These glasses on the earth that look like silver are lovely.
But, I want to see those silver ones that look like glass. Make me see them, my Lord, make me see (Aameen).

Sisterly Yours
The Might of Pen 🙂
