“Mix platter for me bhayya 🙋♀️”
We had reached ‘Cheetal’. It was time for the tea break.
To travel is beautiful.
Who doesn’t love to travel? The world loves to travel for its beautiful destinations.
I also love traveling, not for the destination only but for the journey.
We were on our way to ‘Deoband’ my parents’ hometown from ‘Delhi’ the city where I grew up. I remember around two years back when I visited India, I had to drop my plan to visit Deoband that time.
“Andaza hai kitnaa yaad aa rahi ho?”
“(Do you know how much I am missing you)”, Khaalajaan (my aunt) displeased with me complained.
“Next Time In sha Allaah”, I promised her.
However, she passed last year and embarked on her final journey before I could meet her on my next visit.
I was determined this time to meet all my loved ones. And, to travel more too.
Though every destination has something unique to give visitors, it is an altogether different experience to stay over with your friends and family in a different setting. Just like we were going Deoband for a couple of days.
It’s quite offbeat.
To immerse yourself in a completely different world is the best learning experience.
The sky is bejeweled with stars like every night here. I look at the sky and then look around me. The ‘chaarpaais’ (cots) are placed facing each other with ladies sitting on them shoulder to shoulder. Dinner is already ready in the kitchen. Kids are playing in one room and those boys who are neither kids nor adults are giggling together in another room. There are a few other guests as well besides us. They are also sitting there, shoulder to shoulder sharing the same ‘chaarpai’.
Gaping at the dotted sky which I forget to look at, back home in my routine life I realise that there’s no one way to live life.
I am listening to everybody from day long. And, I love to listen to people. Listening them I realise my world view isn’t the same as everyone else’s.
For the last two days, I have visited many homes, many families. And, I know how different life is in another place as I have seen it myself.
It is far-out.
Life is really very different at every place I go to. It has some different ‘good’ and some different ‘bad’.
I am wondering how true are the words of Allaah SWT…
How complete is the guidance…
Alhamdulillaah. It is my habit to invoke Allaah SWT with this supplication before entering any place I am visiting.
O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and all that they envelop, Lord of the seven earths and all that they carry, Lord of the devils and all whom they misguide, Lord of the winds and all whom they whisk away. I ask You for the goodness of this town, the goodness of its inhabitants and for all the goodness found within it and I take refuge with You from the evil of this town, the evil of its inhabitants and from all the evil found within it. (Aameen)
how rich is the treasure of these Prophetic invocations…
There is good and bad everywhere; in people and in places.
You need not to confine yourself. You need not to rest. Travel a bit and meet people. Just take the good and leave the rest. And, ask for that from Allaah SWT only.
This time my visit was awesome.
I just took the good and left the rest 🙆♀️.
Because I didn’t forget to say the ‘Dua of entering a new town’ before I entered.
And, Alhamdulillaah it did the best ❤️.
